The Staley Mustangs 7th Grade Football Blue Team played the Scoggins Seahawks tonight at Memorial Stadium. The Mustangs played a great game. The Mustangs marched down the field on their second possession, most of the yards coming on long runs by #32. The Mustangs scored when #32 ran the ball in to the corner of the end zone. The PAT run was stopped short, but the Mustangs had the lead 6-0. After holding the Seahawks and forcing them to punt, the Mustangs put on impressive drive that took up most of the second quarter. The Mustangs offensive line made the running game easy. The Mustangs scored with seven seconds left in the half, when #21 took a hand off and turned ran it to the end zone for the Mustangs. The PAT was run in by #32 to give the Mustangs the 13-0 lead at the half.
The Mustangs play a great second half, the defense stopping the Seahawks each time they had the ball, not letting them in the end zone all night. The Mustangs scored one last time when #32 had a long run down the sideline to give the Mustangs a 19-0 lead. The PAT was stopped short, keeping the score at 19-0 at the end of the third quarter. The Mustangs shut down the Seahawks and ran out the clock to get the win 19-0. The Staley Mustangs played strong on both sides of the ball. Great win tonight!! Way to go, Mustangs!!
