Staley Middle School officially started track season last night at a quad meet against Cobb, Clark, Scoggins and Wester Middle Schools.  The athletes braved breezy conditions to jump high and far, run tough and stay strong amidst some strong competition.   The Staley Mustangs fared pretty well with several Mustangs finishing in the top three or four for their events.   The Mustangs had a couple of wins and places in field events: boys discus, boys pole vault, boys long jump and very strong performance in the running events, especially in the distance events.  Boys 2400 7th Grade had the Mustangs taking 1st, 2nd and 4th.  The boys 8th Grade 800, a strong second place finish. Girls 7th Grade 800, first place.  Girls 7th Grade 1600, great runs for first and second. Boys 7th Grade 1600, first and second.  Boys 8th Grade 1600, a great run for first place.  I know that I did not get all the places and wins, my apologies, these are just the few that I remember.  All the athletes from Staley went out and pushed themselves, gave it their all and cheered each other on.  Great job Mustangs!!!
