The Frisco High School Junior Varsity Girls Soccer program has a bright future, with talent and depth. The team ended their season on a high note with a 2-1 win against Liberty High School. The Lady Raccoons scored in the first three minutes of play when Dahnie tap a pass from Jessie past the keeper into the goal. The second goal was scored by Taylor when she worked her way around a defender and kicked the ball in from about ten yards out, about five minutes into the game. The Lady Raccoons played strong in the windy conditions keeping possession most of the half. The only goal scored by Liberty, was when the ball was cleared and then passed upfield and Lady Redhawk booted the ball past Frisco's keeper Sasha, with two minutes left to play in the half.
The Lady Raccoons played against the wind in the second half and still dominated the game. The defense played tough, keeping Liberty out of the net. The offense kept pressing and have several shots on goal with some just missing the mark. Liberty tried to tie the game late, but Frisco held, and took the 2-1 victory.
All in all it was a great season for these girls, ending with a overall record of 11-6-1 and a District record of 5-3. The Frisco's goalies, Sasha and McKenzie each had a stellar season at the net. The defenders let little through, playing determine and tough to help the team with several shut out victories. The mid-fielders and front line played awesome all season, controlling the pace of the games and keeping the offensive strong. All the players fill their roles and played well giving the Lady Raccoons a solid team on the field at all times.
I always enjoy being on the sideline watching and photographing these young ladies. Great job Lady Raccoons!! Congratulations on a fabulous season.
