Frisco High School Track spent the day at the Highland Park Track Meet.  The meet was delayed for two hours due to the thunderstorms that rolled through.  The Frisco Lady Raccoons made up for the dreary weather with some outstanding performances.

The first race of the day, the JV two mile,   Frisco's three runners put in strong performances.  Frisco took second, third and fourth in a field of about twenty girls.  Frisco also fielded JV and Varsity 4x800 teams.  The JV 4x800 team put in an excellent performance with a convincing second place finish.

The Varsity 4x800 race was the most exciting race of the day.   The girls all ran great times in moving up through out the race.  Frisco went from fourth, to third, to second as the race progressed.  The end came down to a battle for second place between Frisco and Legacy , with Frisco coming away with second place behind Highland Park.

Other highlights of the meet were long jump, JV shot put,  JV 400, and JV 1600.

It was great seeing several teammates participating in their first track meet of the season, having been sidelined with injuries.  Congratulations to Kamryn, Katie C. and Andrea for great performances in the 4x800, 100 & 300 hurdles, 400, and the 1600.  While you have been instrumental in helping and encouraging your teammates so far this season, it was great to see you all out on the track running strong.

Congratulations Lady Raccoons on an outstanding day!!  Keep up the great work.

Here are some of my favorite images of the day.
