The Staley Mustangs 7th Grade Football Blue Team played a tough Spartan team tonight.  The Mustangs stopped the Spartans on their opening drive.  The Mustangs then had momentum, getting some yards on some runs to get them inside the ten yard line.  The Staley quarterback then took the ball ran toward the gaol line, however, as he got hit at the three yard line the ball popped out and the Spartans recovered.  The Staley defense once again held, and the Mustangs had a good drive going.  However the ball was snapped over the quarterback's head on first and goal.  Staley recovered the ball but lost valuable yardage.   Staley could not punch it into the end zone, so the Mustangs attempted a field goal. The ball fell just short of the uprights.  The scored was a 0-0 tie at half time. The Spartans scored twice in the second half.  The Mustangs tried to get into the end zone, and came close a couple of times, but the Spartan defense was strong, stopping Staley short both times.  The game ended  with a Spartan victory.  Keep working hard Mustangs!!
