Not to be out done, the Staley 8th Grade Boys Soccer also took down the Rams tonight.  The Staley Boys dominated the game with possession and ball control.  Staley's first goal came during the first five minutes of play, Theo passed to John Arthur and John took on the goalie one on one, and sailed it right by him.   The second score was from a pass by Luis to Theo who shot it right into the goal from 20 yards out.  With less than two minutes to play in the half, one of the Staley boys was tripped in the box, which resulted in a penalty kick.  Just Luis and the goalie.  The goalie never stood a chance.  Luis booted the ball right past him.  Staley took a 3-0 lead at the break.  The Mustangs came out just as aggressive in the second half.  They kept pressing and taking shots on goal.  Staley kept the Roach defense busy, staying on their side of the field most of the game.  The Rams lone score came with about twenty minutes left in the game.  A Rams player broke down the field, and managed to get one past the Mustang keeper's outstretched hands.  Kyle was stellar all night in the goal, making some fantastic saves. The Mustangs, once again took charge and moved the ball down the field.  Staley's final score came off the foot of Luis, who drove a free kick right over the goalie's hands.   The Mustangs closed out the final seven minutes with steady offense and a couple of near misses.  The Mustangs  teamwork, focus and drive were key elements to this great win.  Way to go boys!!  Good luck in this weekend's tournament!!
